Company history

  • In 1995, Mr. Julien Parrou, while studying law in Bordeaux, began a research project on promotional games. Passionate by games and sensing the potential behind such games, he decided to create a magazine.

  • Available by subscription only and listing all the games the market had to offer, the « Revue des Jeux » was born. Without any financial means, he worked out of his apartment for the first years. He succeeded in launching his magazine. By gradually reinvesting all revenue in client services and improving the magazine, he managed to expand readership and became very successful.

  • The magazine had developed a very strong know-how in gaming, marketing and promotional technics. Large brands realised the benefits they could get out of his knowledge for promotional campaigns. Julien, in 2000, decided to create a company with the aim of providing online gaming for companies with complete turnkey solutions. GCM Promo was created with the objective to link companies with their customers, primarily on the internet.

  • In 2005 the internet boom allowed the company to move forward quickly and led to an aggressive growth plan. In 2008, investors joined the company and raised 1.8 million Euro (equivalent to its annual revenue) in GCM Promo. The company acquired many sites and transformed itself. The name changed to GCM Promo.

  • The company's current success is due to its employees, market knowledge, market potential and strong financial backing. In just 2 years, GCM Promo has tripled in size and its revenue has jumped from 2 million to 6 million. Profitable from day one, the company invests, hires and develops its new solutions and services for the benefit of gamers and brands.

  • At the end of 2010, the company had over 30 employees and a large portfolio of customers with great references. Thanks to Julien's initial strategy, GCM Promo has capitalised on its team's expertize and has benefited from strong backing for its development. The next growth stage will be outside of France, beginning with Europe.
